I'm running the latest version of ShapeX with the December 2021 patches on a new Intel-based MacBook Pro 16,1 (with Radeon Pro 5300M & Intel UHD Graphics 630 GPUs) under macOS BigSur v. 11.6.1. My installed Java version is Java 8 Update 311.
I've run into what appear to be a bug in the render module:
I recently started using Shape, and so for a first learning exercise, I created a simple model containing a bipolar structure with a torus, as per the older Shape Quickstart video available on Youtube (but with the newest version of ShapeX, of course). That all mostly went OK, and when I render the object, without altering the camera position, everything initially seems fine. However, if I increase the camera's inclination angle from the default value of 0 degrees and re-run the render, then some fraction of the upper part of the resulting image appears to just be totally skipped during the rendering process. This effect increases progressively as a function of the inclination angle parameter, with the whole image not being rendered at all with an inclination angle of about 51 degrees or greater.
The angle of the section of the image not rendered does also appear to change with the camera position angle, so that with (e.g.) a PA=45 degrees and an inclination of (say) 30 degrees, the diagonally-described top-right half of the image render is missing (c.f. the horizontally-sliced top half of the image for a PA=0 degrees).
I should also note that I don't see this issue in the older X.beta.0 version of the software when I create and render similar object.
Many thanks in advance for any help you can provide on the above, & apologies in advance if this issue is simply arising due to my being a relatively new user.
UPDATE REQUIRED: To fix this bug, please update to the latest version from January 21, 2022. See instructions in the DOWNLOADS area of the website.
